Harhoura
Our base of operations and a pretty seaside town south of Rabat
Meknès
One of the Imperial cities which rose to prominence in the 1600s under Moulay Ishmaïl.
Fès
One of the Imperial Cities in Morocco, and a fascinating place. 9,000 streets in the Medina [the old walled city] – a labrynth to engulf any visitor without a clear sense of direction, a direct mission, nobody to cause distraction, and no curiosity.
Fortunately we had a guide.
Chefchaouen
This tidy town high in the Rif Mountains of northern Morocco is a riot of colour and a delightful place to spend a day shopping and sketching and sipping tea in the square.
Souks
Fascinating markets in towns and cities throughout Morocco, these assault the senses with noise, colour, smells, tastes and emotions.
Hostelries
We stayed at three different places on the trip, each quite different and each with certain appeal.
Fauna
Tiny and skinny cats dominated the fauna scene, most of them either pregnant or nursing, but there were also interesting birds and other creatures.
However this is the first time I have ever had to ask for a "bee-spoon" to get the dead bodies out of my hot sweet mint tea!
People
Members of our group, shots of people in the souks, generally assorted examples of humanity.
Flora
Moroccan botanicals, many of them unknown to me and quite lovely. These include wildflowers and well designed gardens.
Ruins
Roman and Islamic ruins from Chellah and Volubilis, both taken over by storks.
Colour
Shots taken purely and simply for the glory of their colours.
Miscellany
Just interesting things.
